Introduction of E2M









Features of E2M (Engineer with EM waves)
– E2M adopted a fast and advanced 1D EM solver
– E2M can simulate 1D stacked (layered) structures to extract reflectance, transmittance, and absorptance as functions of incident angle and thickness with a mixed polarization ratio.
– E2M can simulate 1D stacked structures to extract photonic band structures for TE and TM modes.
– The current version of E2M supports LHI (linear, homogeneous, and isotropic) medium.
– User-defined material can be constructed within this simulator.
– The material database at refractiveindex.info was internally adopted to offer a prompt solution with practical material parameters. However, nonmagnetic material is assumed when converting the complex refractive index of the database into complex permittivity and complex permeability.
– Extracted raw data and figures can be exported through email or the Files app from Apple easily.
– Various simulation domain parameters can be selected in “Setting/Etc” tab-view: frequency domain, wavelength domain, or energy domain with electron-volts.
– Freeware mode is offered, which allows to simulate less than four layers, but infinite repetition of the designed layers within three layers is possible. Therefore, several cases for the academic calculations are possible without subscription.
